sazji on Sunday 22 April 2007 - 19:30:30Cheryl - re Clivia reblooming - Clivia needs a cool rest to rebloom. Try putting it in the coolest room in your house in the fall and give just enough water to keep from wilting. Bring it out after a month and a half or so and it should bloom. Also pot-bound plants bloom better.
sazji on Sunday 22 April 2007 - 19:24:22Karen - Unless you want to try growing Clivia from seed, remove the forming seedpods if any but leave the main stem. This will eventually yellow and die back as the plant extracts the nutrients from it. Then you can cut it off.
Karen Lyles on Sunday 22 April 2007 - 10:49:57When the blooms fall of of my Clivia Miniata, what do I do with the shoot? I didn't know if I should cut it back or leave it alone. Thank you so much! Karen

Dean on Saturday 31 March 2007 - 11:59:25Hi, I've just joined (probably more than once knowing my computer skills). Anywho, I live on 30 acres in the Glasshouse Mountains (Sunshine Coast Qld Australia) and cultivate tropical trees, Sth American bulbs (plus Boophane, Brunsvigias etc) and other strange things... And, I believe everything is hardy until I've killed it 2 or 3 times myself...Haven't tried Meconopsis yet but I will one day. d
sazji on Monday 26 March 2007 - 19:51:18MikeHub - for Love in a Mist, the best way is to sow them in the Fall; they'll know when to come up on their own in the spring as long as they are not outcompeted by other things. They will usually self-sow as well.
